Barbara has been a clinical social worker helping clients meet personal mental health objectives since 2002. She transitioned into her current private practice full-time in 2020 after working in a similar capacity for the state of Connecticut’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services for fourteen years.

Through various evidence-based, holistic therapeutic techniques, Barbara offers individuals a safe and empathetic space to express concerns, emotions, and other feelings that can disrupt one’s daily routine and peaceful existence. Her practice focuses on individuals  - primarily adults and seniors - seeking to learn to manage some of the inevitable challenges in life that manifest psychologically and often, physically, as well. • Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, or EMDR Therapy – is a method of changing how the brain stores traumatic memories so they trigger a less intense emotional response.  
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – CBT – refers to a talk therapy approach that has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of various mental health issues. It is based on bringing to light how the way we frame things in our minds influences our actions and trying to reframe them to give ourselves more positive options.
• Motivational Enhancement Therapy – a short-term form of talk therapy that helps people clear up ambivalent feelings about substance abuse and commit to change.
